Insurance & Payments

Do you take insurance?

Lacuna Collective is a private pay practice. I don't bill insurance directly, but that doesn't mean insurance can't help.

As an out-of-network provider, your insurance plan may reimburse you for 60-80% of the session cost depending on your benefits. Many clients are surprised to find out that they have coverage and how much their plan covers. If you have a PPO plan you should be able to access your out-of-network benefits for therapy sessions. You would just need to submit a super-bill directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How to check your out-of-network benefits:

Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?

  • What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed once my deductible is met?

  • Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

Once you have that information I can provide you with a super-bill after each session. A super-bill is a detailed receipt you submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Payment Policy

  • Pay as you go — payment is collected at the time of service.

  • 3-month monthly commitment — payment is collected on the 1st of each month unless otherwise noted.

  • 3-month pay in full — payment is collected in full when scheduling your first session.

  • All major credit cards are accepted. Payment is processed securely through Jane.

Why private pay?

Private pay means more privacy, more flexibility, and more control over your care. No insurance company deciding how many sessions you need or what diagnosis goes in your file. Just you and the work.
